I was wondering if any of youse guys had sobered up yet. I got up at 5 to take my family to a man-made wetland not too far from here to look at the birds. The birds do not seem to mind that the wetland was created from treated water..they are there in prodigious numbers & wide varieties. Very enjoyable trip. The only fishing was being done by the birds.

I was up past 2am last night. Watched 'Invinsible' with Mark Wahlberg (great movie) then played football on the gamecube with the kids followed by Parcheesi and then a few games of foozball. Oh, and lit off a couple of amazing fireworks just to keep the neighbors on their toes. :D

Sobered up?? I have already gotten two loads of most excellent fire wood from the blow-down in the park next to me . Got to be quick before the park people get there and shut me down!! :D

But last night was exciting--- watching the world ring in the New Year on the telly about 1030 pm, and the neighbour lets fly with a couple of 12ga blasts in the air. Seems he is getting old too and couldnt wait until midnight....

But we were in bed by 11, woke up briefly at midnight to the sound of distant fireworks and that was it :(

But I wish everyone a great 2007, be happy, catch lots of fish and spend as much time with the family as you can.

Happy New Year to everyone. Spemt the day watching PennState whooop up on the Vols, then packing decorations away in the attic till next year.

Pam has been fighting a bug all season and in fact spent 5 days in the hospital just before Christmas. She got out and home on Wednesday and company started to arrive on Thursday. The last guest (daughter) left on Thursday AM so we've been busy nursing her as well as entertaining guests. We went out to a party last nite but left at 10:30 and she was in bed asleep by 11:00. She's finally feeling a little better.
