View Full Version : you don't see forecasts like this very often for around here
it should be good for business, though.

keep that 'kewl' crappy weather outta here...:D
Up nawth here (250m from Mont) we have a forecast high of 31 today and 30 tomorrow. Calling for an inch of ice later today. That's the bad news. The good news is the wood box, wine rack and fridge are full - crabcakes and cabernet to last a couple of days :)
I think we should all chip in for diet pills for PK considering his stated plans ;)

Its just a bit below freezing up here, with a threat of an inch or so of snow-- No wind so I was going to put the boat in the water and chase down a crab or two for dinner...
That was until I tried to start the truck last night-- dead battery. An overnight charge didnt do squat, so I am not going anywhere with that vehicle.
Back to chopping wood again

It went from 68 to 40 overnight and they are calling for rain and ice tonight. Just to be on the safe side, I went and got a half cord of oak yesterday and some additional groceries. Talk about nasty outside, yuk.

It just ain't right! Thanks to the Deep Freeze of 2007, of all the trees that decide to take a dive it's the one tree that holds my hammock.:p It just ain't
right I tell ya. As Larry the cable guy would say...I'll have to git her done. Actually, we don't see much of this in this part of Texas. The valley behind my house is like a winter wonderland covered in ice. Truly, an awesome sight,
except for that sad broken hammock mocking me from my window! Rusty
Just a thin coat of ice here on the east fork of the Trinity. West and north, apparently the Hill Country from Rusty's post, got a load of freezing stuff.
Did get 1.5" of rain at the house and some areas got 8.5". The lake elevation report says some are up 5'. 12'-15' more and we might be able to water the lawn come spring :)

This weather has been strange this winter. Yesterday, I put my kayak in the 62 degree water while wearing shorts, a tee shirt and sandles! We got up to 80 degrees! I caught 5 Trout, BTW!
