Yah...I figgered that would warm you up a little.
I'm halfway thru my w%$kweek, then I'll be out hoping to reduce the kingfish, mutton snapper & dolphin populations again.

We finally caught a break and have decent weather down here. It's supposed to rain a couple of inches tomorrow and then turn nice again for the weekend. Faith's BD is tomorrow, so I have some shopping to do today for her. She's been sick with strep, but that mostly fell on Stacy to deal with.

I don't know about the rest of the world but here in SW Florida it's cold. 40's at night and low 70's daytime. I'm staying inside as much as I can.I was supposed to give a fellow some fly casting lessons this week but I put him on hold till next week, hoping it'll warm up.

I went to a Gulf Council meeting today and provided "public input" on grouper regulations. The Gulf Council and NMFS wants to cut our limit of Gag Grouper from 5 fish to 1. Now this makes sense since they claim they need a 40% cut in catch to maintain a sustainable yield. Well 40% of 5 is 2 fish, not 4. But it's like pissing into the wind talking to these idiots. I mean someone even asked me if I target a specie of fish when I go fishing. I said NO, I go to the supermarket and ask the butcher for a head of lettuce and a gallon of milk. And these are the people who make up the regulations we have to live by. If they cut the limit to 1 fish, it's not worth running the 35 miles one way to go catch it, so I have a 23' boat with twin 200's for sale

Zane-- I have been trying to work my way around the latest requirement from the International Pacific Halibut Commission requirement that is implimenting a 21% cut in the Canadian annual catch of butts-- taking an incredible amount of time consulting with our advisory committee, with no guarantee that the Feds will listen. We might be down to 1/day with 3 in possession, plus an annual limit of 10 fish. If you want more info- give me a call.

Hey Zane! As you can see, we are right here! ;) We have been getting crazy weather here. The other day it was 36 in the morning and 74 in the afternoon! Of course when the weekend shows up, the winds pick up and the rain starts! I'm off Friday through Sunday and don't know if I'll be able to fish or not. However, as Jack always says, we don't have to shovel heat! Although I've had a few cold days here, the majority have been warmer than usual. Must be global warming!
Jack, I posted some pics I was sent on 2cool this morning of the meeting. It looked like a zoo to me. Thanks for showing up.

Here you go, Zane! Actually, it was supposed to rain all day according to the weather guessers! If I knew it was going to be so nice, I probably would have gone fishing. It's beautiful out there!

Yeah well our snow melted and it's got down right balmy around here.
33 degrees at night and 38 degrees in the daytime. The last week they have got 6' of snow in the local mountains and the cross state highways are closed because of avalanches or avalanche control. I can't wait till the first of March when I got to Mazatlan Mx for a week. By the time I get back it will be spring :D :D

Keep talking like that and those southerners will actually believe that we dont like winter in the Northwest... The blackmouth fishing and prawning is in full swing up here.. The last time I put the old boat in the water a few days ago ,I was rewarded with 120 prawns-- now I know that isnt exactly a sailfish, but I will put the eating up against anything from down south!!!! :D

Bryan, it is not the Prawns that do you good. It is the Prunes.
Bet each day waiting for that new rig will seem like an eternity.
