Rigged with a kite & fishing off this coast this time of year, that would be a sailfishing machine. Looks like it has the range & comfort to get you to the rigs most any time you want, too.

You would look real good on that boat, Monty! :D Besides, a man of your means could buy that baby with your spare change! No fretting, just do it!!! :D
Well, I went to look at it today, and it's not where it says on the website. It's in Dallas and from what I understand has never been in the water.

Never been in the water, you say. Well I guess you aint interested in this little fix-er-upper then...;) http://www.sportfishingbc.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8447

That's a saltwater boat and Dallas ain't got no saltwater  Plenty of water though. They just grow green stuff on the bottom up here so it's easy to tell if was ever wet ;)
I may be heading to Dallas this weekend. We have perfect riding weather and I have a Goldwing that says I can be there in 3 hours.

Ummmm...Monty. You can't tow that thing with a Goldwing! :D
http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/1/0/88746510.htm has my attention too.
Is the palm of your hand sweating on the mouse? Clicker finger twitching?
Yep, getting close to spring again :D
2 footers at the gardens, both of the big boats sitting in their slips in the mud and me with no trailer boat to head to the yacht basin. I gotta fix that last part, asap.

Monty, here is where you need to do your shopping. :D

I want one like hull #6!
Joe, Dad has a 56 footer and my brother has a 37 footer, both of which are largely unusable in the fall and winter. The tide and winds take the water out of the flats and they can't get out. I just want something I can trailer down and drop in at Galveston Yacht Basin like I used to be able to do and make some day trips. The other issue with both those boats is what 375 gallons worth of diesel is going for these days. The boat at that 2nd link gets real good mileage and with only one engine to keep up with, maintenance isn't bad. Whatever I end up getting is going to be put on a top of the line triple axle trailer that's rated at least 30% more than what the boat weighs. I just ordered a new Dodge 4 by 4 long bed diesel to pull with.

Yup. Them big boats are pretty, but they are expensive and difficult to run. If the price of fuel keeps rising, I might have to just do all of my fishing from my kayak!
Good luck with the new Dodge, Mont.:D
I sea trialed a proven 28 Henriques express today. The survey didn't find anything I hadn't already found, except a minor engine alignment problem. We did a quick haul and the hull is solid. It's a '97 model, twin diesels, with 1300 hours. I am supposed to take delivery for this weekend. She's not trailerable, which will be a first for me. I found a great deepwater slip for $200 a month, including power and water. It's new territory for me, and I am looking forward to a break from the trailer crowd on the ramps this summer. The Black Drum run is on big time, so I may be able to slime it up this weekend.

Why the change of heart  http://floridasportsman.com/art/scratch.gif:confused:
I am tired of the boat ramp wars, Jack. The other two boats have to cross a flat that on a good day, has 4 feet of water on it. My berth is on an 11 foot channel and is 10 minutes to the bay. On the weekends, it can take a good hour each way to pull in or out of the ramps around here. When the water cops are there, it's even worse.
We'll have to break in the new yacht properly Mont. I also have some virgin tackle that needs a wetting :) I take it you're on Clear Lake so you're somewhat hurricane protected.
Congrats on the acquisition.
Dan, I dunno about hurricane protected, but I am insured to the hilt. The black drum run is on big time, so maybe I can wet a line this weekend at the jetties.

Damn nice!!!!! Have fun!!!
One thought for safety at sea just crossed my mind: How much ballast is needed in the keel to counter Mont's mass when on the fly bridge? ;)
That marlin tower is safe from me. It's a real good place to store the empty barrels on the way back home from the floaters, though.

Mont: That is a sweet lookin' fishin' mochine! Do you plan to change her name?
~~Greg~~
I signed the documentation papers today to name her Flatline. It is my Dad's BD today and I didn't get out of closing in time to move her to my new slip. As soon as I get up and around in the am, she's going to her new home at Seabrook Shipyard. I bonused out and got all the original documents, parts manuals, repair manuals, installation manuals, the whole deal. It's about 2 feet thick of paperwork. Hopefully, I can get settled in enough tomorrow to go chase some black drum on Sunday. It's absolutely beautiful here right now and the trees budded out this week. I would love to slip offshore, but I don't have anywhere near enough time with her yet to do that just yet. 2 foot seas for Sunday.

2' will sure be no hill for that stepper.
The very best with it Monty.
It's absolutley beautiful Mont. I would like to add that if you are trying to entice batbreath and I to come down for a fishing trip, you are doing an exellent job :D :D :D
Any and all of y'all are always welcomed to come go fishin'. I have a nice RV in the driveway you can use to stay in and the boat is 10 minutes away.
Today was the first time to drive her and she handles very well. I am either going to have to park her nose in at the slip or get a new one. It's a bit narrow. All of that aside, I put her in there without any problems this afternoon. The hose down decks and built in drains sure make it easy to keep up with keeping them clean. It's way different that the carpet and such on my bros and dads' boats. I am taking the girls for a quick run in the morning out in the bay. It's so pretty here, it's hard to believe it's February.
