Got a call on Saturday from a friend who asked me to fill a spot on his 38' Striker. We departed out the Cotee River and ran NW for an hour to several spots within a mile or two of each other in 23' to 30' of water. It was a slow pick all day, with a couple of our group dropping in to find some hogfish, but we ended up with 14 keeper gags (largest was 27" and had a leader that had broken off earlier in the day in it's gullet), lots of short gags and short red grouper, 2 mangos, and a snake king. I hooked a spinner shark of about 100 lbs that put on quite a show until it rolled up and broke the line.
