View Full Version : picked up a first at the Liberty Rally
At least it didn't rain. The poker run yesterday was more like an iron man run. 51 degrees and 30 MPH winds. Yikes The cup of coffee at the first stop was the best one ever. It was still a good time. I haven't ever missed Iron Angels and don't plan to next year. I rode Stacy's bike and detailed it before the bike show. Here's a few pics.

Whew! You had me worried with that title for a few minutes, Mont! I was thinking biker chick or disease or something! :D
Seriously, nice pics and Stacy's bike looks great! How is she feeling?

Seriously, nice pics and Stacy's bike looks great! How is she feeling?Picking up a biker chick disease would result in the boyz being removed with a dull knife. I had a good time, but it's a lot of work to load up the RV, golf cart and bike by yourself, twice.
Sounds like you need a day off Mont. The seas at the Galveston buoy are 0.3' and it's rougher 'n hades at the Freeport buoy with 1' rollers.
:)
Saturday isn't looking bad out there, Dan. The norther snapped off what was left of 3 of my fence poles over the weekend. I got new ones cemented in last night, so I will have to see how it goes with that project. If nothing else, it will be a good day for a boat ride if I can get done with the fence. I have about 60 feet of twisted top rail/bar to replace on the side as well. You would have better luck getting the Pope to show up around here vs. a fence guy. Them and the roofers are hard to come by right now.
The weekend forecast just went to crap. The bay forecast for tomorrow looks good and the fence project is done. Sounds like a good time for a boat ride to me.

Agreed Mont-- better burning fuel than sitting around getting bored!!! But judging from all your toys-- you really should not have that problem!! :D
Bryan, buring gas in the gas powered post hole digger isn't one of my favorite toys. It's also licensed for ice digging, whatever that might be. A Wed. boat ride is right up there with the Doctors, Lawyers and Golfers. Cheers my friend ;)
Winds blowing about 30 and the temp has dropped 20 degrees or so. Gonna be in the 30's in the morning.
C'mon spring :)
it's only blowing 26 here right now, Dan.

is a pretty kewl link for the bay. There's still two stations down from IKE though. The one on Eagle point is most accurate for where I go for plain old boat rides.

Got the Cuba Libre in the water a couple of days ago. Figured to trap some prawns and perhaps a couple of crabs... It was not to be. Only got enought prawns for a cocktail and NO crabs... the commercials are hitting our area right now. My two traps dont have much chance against the 300 traps each commercial puts out.
We are trying to get this area reserved for Indian and recreational harvesting only.. but Mont knows only too well how hard it is sometimes to get the government to recognize the rights of the public to thier own resource....:(
But the weather was GREAT.. just about freezing in the AM , warming to around 48 degrees in the early afternoon. Bright sun, which warmed the full canvas canopy on the boat into the toasty range. Just got a little cool outside when pulling the traps.... but everyone knows YA GOTTA BE TOUGH TO LIVE IN THE NORTH WOODS ( and that be me :D )

WARMING to 48??? That's about as cool as it has been here in sunny SOFLA lately. I guess you do have to be tough to live in the north woods, my friend. I couldn't do it. Well, maybe I could, but I wouldn't enjoy it.
Best of luck trying to get your share of the bounty. ~~Greg~~

Bryan always loads up on that Puerto Rican Antifreeze And what would be wrong with that????? ;) Especially since I know you are perfectly capable of stocking up on margaritas -- and they have only limited use as antifreeze --- but wait-- they are liquid sunscreen. How silly of me..:p
