View Full Version : picked up a couple of nice ones, yesterday
The wind was howling, so we hit a couple of protected areas for black drum. Both of them produced fish, but the 2nd stop was the winner once the tide slacked up just a little. It had to be blowing under us at 2 knots most of the day. The POINT tourney is the first weekend of next month and I have never missed it. Hopefully, they will still be around then.
They be fun on light tackle Mont. Good catch.......
Dan, I wish I could have missed what I caught on the way home. Progressive is having a bad day today. The paint on the starboard prop matches the color used by the local dumpster guys. Whatever it was, it was solid.

Dang! Looks like you're lucky it didn't take both props out. ~~Greg~~
Nasty, Mont. Sorry to see that. Was that in the channel?

Doggie!!! What a mess. Glad it was not worse. Make sure the rudder shaft has not done any damage to the thru hull fitting.:(
The port side is almost as bad, but the good part is the boat stayed floating. Mr. Henriques builds one tough SOB of a boat. I am fairly sure I hit a submerged dumpster. It's really incredible what you can do with a GPS track and a computer these days. I went back and found exactly where I was when it hit. They haven't torn it completely down yet, but I think the rudder logs are going to have to be replaced. What really sucks was I was just on the fish and no one knows they are out there yet. The newspaper this morning was crying about "the run is late". BS, they don't know where to fish. Hopefully, they can get me back in the water soon so the chase can be back on. I dearly want a huge ling or 4 this year once the wind lays and the black drum run is really over.
