View Full Version : JD's getting hammered
I hope the lake holds it all, Dan. ;)
I think the lake could handle about 12" no problemo. Ask the kids that ran daddy's boat aground out back last Sunday - bad way to end spring break - "dad, please come get your boat". After 4 got out and pushed, they couldn't get it started and were drifting north in a steady 30 knot breeze with no anchor out the last I saw.
At least the water is on the outside. Last Thursday night the dog barking woke me. I got up to take him out and found an inch of water across half the house. Den, kitchen, dining, library, living, atrium and entrance foyer. A water pipe blew out of the compression fitting in the den bathroom.
Just settled with the insurance company yesterday. Next comes the demolition of 1200 sq' of wood floor. And BJ ain't happy. But she gets to choose a different color of flooring
Stay cool......
It missed us today for the most part. We did get about a half inch of rain, but are still at least 6 inches behind this time last year. I need about 6 days of good weather and the boat will be back in the water again.
It's a howling blizzard in the panhandle today with I40 shut down in areas. Calling for a freeze here Sunday morning and all of our spring planting is done
But that's Texas in the spring. You should get enough good weather to finish and splash the yacht Mont after this front comes thru.
It's not gonna freeze here, the pecan trees have budded out already. They got both struts, shafts and one rudder back on. Still waiting on the other one to come from NJ. POINT is April 3rd and 4th and I have never missed it. It's gonna be close this time. The good news is I have finished all the honey do's and even built up some credit, lol.
wow, it was 82 here at the house yesterday and it's 42 this morning with the wind howling out of the north at 20. I hope NASCAR has a 500 mile race this weekend.

They're racing down the road from me this weekend. So far nothing but rain, calling for t-storms tonight, but should be clear for the race. We'll see.

after getting missed by heavy t-storms that came across northern Fla the past few days... we're in it now...

We escaped the freezing temps at the hacienda as the lake water is about 52. Keeps us a bit warmer than up the ridge behind us. Felt like it was 40 this morning on the early doggie trek. But the back is still sore from hauling pots and tubs in close to the house :)
I hear ya' on the fishing. Been so long I think all my line has dry rot
