View Full Version : doing it again.. in da' HEAT
okay all you GG's.. where am I now... hint.. been here in the same Rm 107 many times before... just to let everyone know.. they're doing their usual 'fall special' right now stay two days get the third day FREE...
called up Holland America to try to get on a waitlist for a last minute cruise to end our winter-spring cruisin' season... they called me back last Thursday.. had an opening.. took it... we leave tomorrow--Friday-- again for the Southern Caribbean this time around.. 14 days...
looks like we got out of town just in time just south of us in the Myrtle Beach area... http://www.thesunnews.com if we would have left today it would have meant going about 40-50 miles out of our way to get around it...
took this pic with the webcam on my new Acer 10.1" Netbook.. looks like it's pretty decent Laptop-type for traveling... I like it a lot.. got it two weeks ago at Costco

I do believe I recognize the place. That would be the place I did a snake talk, Duff nearly got busted for arson, & you & I fished with Howard, (and Dan) absolutely slaying the spadefish, I lost a rod & reel, & a bunch of us worried about Jack & Sarge getting back during a storm of monumental proportions. It was also the scene of some fabulous grilling of steaks & ersters. I probably combined multiple visits in the above description, but I think I got it right. Oh..that was also the scene of the Lighthouse Lady very nearly being deep sixed. What plug? Fond memories, indeed, my friend!
That was the place I first met you & your wife, Captain Dan Spisak, Joe & Dodie Georgia, Captain Ken Roy, Duff, Monty & Sarge & bunch of other great Green Groupers.
So..did I guess right? ~~Greg~~

Oh..Your wife, Bill's wife, & my wife pulled a trick on the bunch of us there, also. Sumpin' to do with a redfish, as I recall.

' ab-so-lude-lee'....with your superior investigative techniques and deductions I dub thee an 'o-fish-al GG defective':D
I've got one of those netbooks too Ray. They are just fantastic... in fact I'm using mine now and have been all day. Battery life is an amazing 9.5 hours and the cost? Just over $300!
I've got a case of peanut oil and 20 pounds of wings, whenever y'all are ready to experience the fiery fury again. I'm ready for a road trip!

I too have one of the netbooks. I got the Gateway 1004. It is the same as the Acer. Got the 8.9 and love it. With the 3 usb ports, I have added all the other things I might want to use. All fit in a small, soft sided attache case.Love the fact that I can review any pictures I take with the memory card slots. Will be handy on my trip to PV again this October.

we're in PR --Old San Juan today... about to set sail for St Thomas in about an hour...only 70 miles away...
this Acer 10.1 betbook has a 160gb hard drive.. as much as my Dell 14" laptop... ... that I used to take along when we travel.. this thing is great.. lightweight.. I like it a lot... just uploaded about 500 pics from the two cameras from the past two days.... plenty of RAM --1 gb... glad I got the portable USB DVD/CD ...

Yop! Yop! Fond memories, Greg! Ray, enjoy your cruise. Duff, stay away from the hot oil! :D
We need another re-union.
got to fish on Holland's private island in the central Bahamas-- Half Moon Cay... this past Thursday.. it sits about 10-12 miles east of the southern tip of Eleuthera formerly called Little San Salvador island before they renamed it... fished there a number of times before with the the same Captain and mate.. I book it thru the ship since it's 'their island'... the charter runs 2- 2/1/2 hrs in a 28' center console..
didn't do so well only catching one decent jack in the first charter ...the couple who I fished with got one mahi each..... the good Capt asked me to stay onboard and do the second charter with them as we were docking.. as his guest... I checked with 'the real PK'.. go ahead why not... so I did... he always takes care of me when I go out with him... and I do likewise.. the second charter was the good one with plenty of mahi being caught...
four of us onboard got multiple catches of Mahi except one guy--the 'hangover dood' who lost two on the way in because he let slack in the lines.. what a dope... I wound up with the biggest mahi of the four I caught... only saw one p-nut dolphin.. all the rest were decent size

anyway.. had fun.... heck anything to make the rod bend is good...for some reason the later morning bite at that island always seems to produce more fish... most places it is the early morning sunrise bite that does.. I know it's like that around here... " you snooze--you lose''
