we got a new hound

I haven't had a big dog (or boat dog) since I lost RebaB on my birthday last year. The SPCA shipped this one in from Waco. He was taken from a puppy farm and is quite skinny. So far, he's discovered TV (spends hours watching it), ice cubes, and learned not to mess with Mom duck and her 18 ducklings. Of course, Faith is spoiling him. He's doing pretty good with housetraining (thank God for tile floors) and at 3 months, is already pretty good sized. I would guess he's going to be about a hundred or so pounds by this time next year. He's a pure Bloodhound and we named him Blue.

That explains the new boat. It was for the new puppy :) He'll love it.

Blue went for his first ever boat ride this morning. Talk about a great hound. He promptly stole Zach's seat and passed out cold. Watching him walk down the floating pier was a riot. It would move, he would freeze, the he would take off again. Of course, it moved again and he froze. It's gonna be good to have a partner in crime for after work boat runs.

My wife and I worked in Montana on a horse ranch. The owner had 2 hounds. One word of advice, get a cow bell on that dog and chip him. Great dogs. Love their dispositions. You're in for a treat.Rusty
