In the ongoing saga of the seawalls, the city decided to run their new 24" sewer line thru at the same time. They went thru several of BJ's gardens including desert specimens, wax myrtle, oleander and a few others.

The water view has opened up and when they get done with land restoration we should have a nice grassy slope down to the water. Should be done just in time to bring the boat up for the fall striper season. I'm going to put in a mooring for the time being.

The wall is 2/3 complete:

Greg - Yes, we have Martins. The gourd houses less than the others. The gourds were put up about 8 years ago. They flourished until the surrounding bushes and trees got almost as high as the gourds (ditto with my neighbor who is nesting squirrels this year). I'm going to relocate them closer to the water where it's open and it should fill up again next year.

The constructions seems not to have bothered them. A bonus related to the sewer line: we are permitted to reclaim 10' of eroded land "from the deepest cut". We're getting away with 20' + so that trucks have room to get outside the 6' trench they'll dig (between the trench and the water).

Last load of steel was delivered today. They should finish the driving tomorrow. Then several days of pounding in anchors and welding rebar between the wall and anchors.
