We have about 3,000,000 more you can have. Boy, if 3,000,000 more moved your way just think of all money moving in.

My Daddy always said that Yankees came to Florida with $10.00 and a pair of long underwear and never changed either one. The only difference between a Yankee and a damn Yankee was, a Yankee came to Florida for 2 weeks then went home. A damn Yankee came to Florida and stayed.

But one thing is for sure, they will run your economy. Just to much money. People move into an area and bring money with them. Then they pay too much for the homes they buy. Then the next wave comes along and pays even more. Everybody wants to live on the water.

The house I bought in 1986 on the water I bought for $60,000, in 1992 I sold it for $220,000. I moved 60 miles south to Englewood, paid $67,000 for house on the water. More people moved there, lot's of people. 2 years ago I sold it for $350,000. Now I am retired I live 10 miles inland. The house I bought has already tripled in price. Just too much money coming into Florida.

All I can say is " Good Luck "

Have been around for 20 years. Wilmington NC is 50% people from up north these days.

Here is VA we are getting alot of them too. The real estate market has been affected by this alot. You can sell a brick rancher on Long Island for $600,000 and buy a Mc Mansion here for less. Semi retire with your pension and sell real estate.

No offense to anyone but Florida is really crowded and expensive. The weather is great in Jan and Feb. Nice if you want to visit but hard year round. Homeowners insurance there has become a big problem.

I moved off the Gulf shore coast line because it was going up fast. After the storms of 2 years ago people buying new homes with a morgage, well they can forget it. No insurance, no morgage. Insurance on the coast AND inland is out of sight. I know people that own their homes free and clear that live without any insurance, it just cost to much. Hell it's almost matches the price of gasoline.
Ain't live grand. I think I'll go on a cruise and forget it all.

damn.. at those rates.. cheaper to live and stay on the ship..

three years ago I found a 14 day cruise on Celebrity in best cabin category on the ship to the Western Caribbean down to Panama and Costa Rica Cozumel.. G Cayman for $705 per person including port charges and all taxes.. .. that's 50 bucks a day.. I can't stay across the state line in North Myrtle Beach for that price and get fed seven times a day...

have fun:D
