View Full Version : Climate change?
While my daughter and s-i-l steam in the 100's at Ft. Lewis WA, we've had 6" of rain and temps in the 80's this week in this part of Texas.
We have a super crop of skeeters to the point one can't go outside for any period of time. The grass needs mowing after 2 days. Hope this odd weather doesn't drive the fish south before the 3rd week in September.
We got some rain, but no where near enough to catch up, Dan. The Guadalupe River is practically dry and Lake Travis is dry. On top of that, the west wind is blowing and you can't even catch hardheads in that stuff. Yuk. It looks like Sunday morning might be a good day to fish the jetties, though. I fubared my back again, so it's going to depend upon how things go with the chiropractor. Getting old is highly over rated. ;)

Sorry to hear about your back, Mont. Last Thursday I started having pain in my upper back and left arm. Diagnosis...bulging cervical disk. I'm on prednizone (sp?) and it seems to be helping. Yup. getting old is overated! However, it beats the alternative!
Joe, I have this (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/sciatica/DS00516) and have been trying to just do exercise and the chiropractor. I hurt myself moving the master bedroom bed a couple weeks ago. It's painful enough to really slow me down, but I don't want to go the drug route just yet. The last thing I need is another addiction and I have seen it plenty of times here at work. Hopefully, Dr. Ricks can work his magic. My usual guy is in the land of Batbreath for his annual vacation for 3 weeks. I like this kid, but I think he's scared of me. It's been pretty funny watching him bounce off of me trying to make the adjustments. My usual one is a tri-athlete and is some kind of stout.

Yup, the drought has been bad here. We're in stage 5 here and in some areas stage 6. We can only hand water plants only once a week and we are on a well. Stage 6 is no watering. It's a scary though to think my well could dry up. I'm already gross and disgusting as it is. I definately need a bath everyday. Monty is right. The Guadalupe river is dried up and so is the Cibolo river that runs through our town. I've never seen it this bad before, the worst on record...... Working all these years with my hand tools I feel like I've been hit by a freight train. I go to this short hispanic guy. He's 5'8 by 5'8. He's a stump, but boy can he crack me up. I'm sore when I leave but in a few hours I feel so much better. Like one of the wise men on the board says... getting old is not for sissys. Rusty

I hope all you young Bucks start to feel better.
At my age, I no longer drink, no longer smoke, don't run around with loose Women... My one remaining vice is lying.
BTW, in most case, such as Capt. Dan and myself it was starting early on alcohol as a preservative. Of course there are the exceptions. Look what it did to Batbreath. ;)
well, I guess talking about the rain did the trick, because it's coming down in sheets. That's a good thing. I switched my big office chair out with a straight backed, smaller one and it seems to have helped. It's pretty bad when sitting on your butt answering the phones is too painful to deal with. 20 years as an attic rat catches up with me every now and again.
No worries Howard. I plan to flush my system out tonight. ;)
Yes Howard, I'm downing finer beverages to assist the grilled Tuna steaks (store caught) down the hatch. And no smokes since 12/31/94  But the day they pronounce me terminal, out come the cigars ;) and the cost of a bottle of fine Irish or Scotch is irrelevant (I just debit the kid's inheritance).
Mont - glad you got some of this moisture but I think we're going to pay for it next week. Also, happy flushing
