Reservations confirmed. BatBreath and Sherrie Carrie will be heading down to the Sunshine State for a short visit at the end of November.We arrive in Orlando in the PM of Nov. 25th. Harass the natives with stupid tourist questions ( Where does Mickey live? When is the next hurricane? ) for five days and then get out of town on the morning of Dec.2nd.

This gives us just 5 days to see EVERYTHING! :eek:

I am negotiating with the Warden for two days off to go fishing. Probably visit Mickey, Universal and the Space Center the other days Ps-- She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed wants to know where the best shopping is and where they take the Canuck buck at par!!!!!! ;)

I am open to suggestions --- more to come. Its gonna be a shock as Fl has about 1/2 the population of the whole of Canada!

Breath of the Bat: Please let me know as soon as you can the date(s) you can fish in Palm Beach County. If necessary, I will take time off work, so don't worry if it's a normal work day.

As far as shopping goes, I don't know the Orlando area that well, but I think there are a couple of outlet malls that have lower than normal prices. If your bride will be joining you on the trip to Palm Beach County, there are a couple of really nice malls here, one being not far from my place, the other being relatively close to the marina ehre the boat is docked. Spending money in the state of Florida is easy. Bring lots!

Orlando has an outlet mall, it's right next to the OUTDOOR WORLD (Bass Pro Shop wich is one of the largest hunting/fishing/camping/boating stores you will ever experience.

Next morning out fishing, and return to Orlando that night. Is this doeable??

Greg, looking at the posts, I would venture the fishing day to be that Thursday or Friday (or both, if possible!). Something close to your house where we can all stay would be great. I plan to fly into PBI a day or two before, and fly out Sunday morning on the redeye. I remember a place in Royal Palm Beach that was pretty good, but that was a while back. Lemme know, amigo.

from what was on the website, the boat runs a morning trip, and an afternoon trip. I would be up for both on Thursday and Friday as long as the weather is decent. The PM trip gets back at 4, so there's plenty of time to clean up and go have a bite to eat afterwards.

It's gonna be great to meet you after all these years, Bryan. Hopefully, Duff can make it too.

Yikes! Johnny B Fishin' is in. That brings us to five. One slot open with Duff, Howard & Joe Georgia still contemplating. Howard sounds like he could easily make it..not sure about the other two yet. One way out of the potential problem is this: If we only have six for a full day trip, no problem. If we have more, we do a morning & an afternoon or night trip with one or two of the guys from the morning trip (like me) giving up his spot to someone else.

The five I have solid are: Yours Truly, Batbreath, Monty, Perfesser Bergen, & Johnny B. Fishin'.

Mont: Six is all they can legally fish, with a crew of two. There is a slim possibility I could go as a crew member, but I'm not counting on that. I will definitely book the boat tomorrow for all day the 30th & the morning of the first. No advance payment will be necessary.

I thought of one other option. There is a slightly larger boat that is available, but it is in a different marina. Once I have a solid number of guys, I'll contact that one..the Black Dog..if necessary. I'd really prefer to get you guys out on the Mad Son, though, but we'll see. Mont...the Friday morning trip will definitely be on the Mad Son.

I haven't had the time to post, but I am able to make it if you can fit me in. :D I figured that I would drive down Wednesday and go back home on Saturday, so I can fish one or both days. :) :D

the fishing part is completely optional for me. Here in Texas all charters are allowed to have non fishing customers. Hell, I have a freezer full of tuna, snapper and ling as it is. In Texas, it's the total number allowed on board per the boat specs. 6 fish, the rest take pictures. I would be really into taking the pictures to get more folks on the Mad Son. Tell them I am media coverage from Texas. I can produce the credentials in a heart beat. I have been published so many times over here, it's an easy thing for me to come up with them.

Mont: I will check into that. BTW, the night trip tonite got a boat limit of snappers. We quit bottom fishing twenty minutes before we went in & fished some surface baits. That's ten snappers for each of six fishermen & the crew of two. We also managed four ocean tallies, a couple of realeased sharp-nosed sharks & a bunch of grunts. Rods were bent all night, & it was a gorgeous one, with the moon making it almost as bright as day. The snappers were of four varieties, mutton, yellowtail, mangrove & lane.

Okay, guys. The Mad Son's license only allows 8 people on board. We have 8 people that want to be on that boat. Bryan, Monty, Joe, Howard, Duff, JBF, Bob & me. I can mate. That leaves six or the remaining seven can be on board. Here is my proposal: Instead of a whoe day trip, we do a morning & an afternoon trip, with one guy sleeping late & replacing oner other guy on the afternoon trip. That would give us all the opportunity to have a burger & a brew or two at the Tiki Hut 200 feet from the boat. I'll leave it to you guys to sort out which two guys get one trip.

I was kinda thinking this would happen, since I have heard them get phone calls asking if they could take more than six people fishing, & the answer has always been no.

Johnny: Thanks for that offer, but hang in there. Duff has pretty much backed out & Joe has said that he will do a half session. If one other guy can't make it, we have six for a whole day..or one other guy can do the half day that Joe sits out. You are right, though, man..you & I can hook up pretty easy. Please keep that in mind over Christmas vacation.
