I was thinkin' a certain rum drinker might bring some elk steaks south to barter for the cane liquor, since he's gonna bag a wapiti tomorrow.

Its amazing how quickly the world changes-- last night I had loaded up the truck to go chase the illusive elk. Today-- I am baby sitting a labrador retriever with a sore back ( the dog -- not my back !) and not going anywhere..:(

Your rum stocks are safe for another week to 10 days as the Warden has been summoned to Dawson Creek ( the start of the Alaska Highway) to attend to our daughters family. She flys up this afternoon. A distance of about 800 road miles. Apparently the family suffered a bout of food poisoning , and its pretty rough for our daughter to look after herself, let along a two year old and a 3 month old baby.

But family comes first-- the critter will have to wait.

Such is life........

Things are improving for the kids too. Just have to wait it out it seems, but they are on the road to recovery now.

And the dog is improving too-- now that I cut back on his prednisone. The intention is to wean him off drugs in a couple of days. Sometimes its better to just let things heal the way mother nature intended.
