View Full Version : fishing with Sarge report
We squeezed about 5 hours in this morning before the storms ran us off the water. Tyler (son of Marcus), got big fish with a 4 pound spotted sea trout. We had a good time and the girls even made chicken salad sandwiches for us for lunch when we got home. It's storming like crazy again here, so we made a good call to head in at noon. It's burgers on the grill tonight and a boat ride in the morning. After that, is a little something on the grill and and early bed time. We leave the house at 4AM Monday to meet our offshore ride in Freeport. Here's a few pics from today. Neither one of us has gotten any better looking, but we still can bait our own hook ;)

Nice trout. Tyler is to be commended. You're right about appearances, but wh cares about that? As far as the baiting goes, I imagine y'all have master's degrees in that by now.:D I spent the afternoon at my daughter's house..a surprise party for her father-in-law who turned 60. It rained for most of it, but not real heavy. I hope you guys have a great offshore trip. ~~Greg~~
Nice catch Mont. Glad you had a break in the weather. The heavy stuff be here now (5:40 CDT).
In fact, it's been so tropical I could swear I hear screechning monkeys out back (kinda like the Tampa Bay area ;) )

Nice day for you guys.
I would make some smart ass comment about the weight on the 2 of you, but I fell off my computer chair and am still rolling around and can't get up.
Just remember, we are not overweight, just under height.
Yes, we both are pregnant. :) Actually though, I am down 24 pounds since late May and plan to lose 60 more over the next year. I promised myself I will be at 300 pounds for the big 50 next year. In fact, Marcus and I have a $5 bet over it and you guys know how I am about those kinda bets. The latest monday forecast dropped offshore to 2-3 feet, from 3-4, so the trend there is right.

Do I see a life long fishing addict in the making??? :D
Sarge has enough years in to retire soon, but he says no way.
Our captain called the trip tomorrow because it was really snotty out there today. We pushed it to Tuesday to see if it lets up, but it doesn't look like it is going to, at least to me. That little low to our east is kicking up things out there still, and it's blowing 15 knots steady at the 60 mile buoy right now. We are off to Schillterbahn water park in Galveston tomorrow. If we can't run offshore Tuesday, it's going to be an run in mine to the jetties to see if anything's home ahead of the weather coming later this week.
We did get a nice boat ride out on the bay in today and had lunch on the way back in.
Happy 4th, guys.
I think it's calmer offshore that here today (Monday). The upper level low is over Okiehoma suckin' in a lot of moisture - low clouds and 15-20 winds.......
Hope you got some inshore fishinlg like the other day. Waiting for the report and pics.
we hit the water early this morning and got a couple of keeper trout and reds. Then, it was off to lunch at Top Water (our version of the Tiki Bar) for a shrimp po boy and some fried oysters. The rain is coming for tomorrow, so I guess it's a good thing he's heading home. I think it would take about 15 years of being able to do this every Tuesday for us to get tired of it. The guy in the yak is a friend of Stacy's. He's tougher than me staying out there in this mess.
