geez.. that's what the rides in Coney used to be when I grew up there back in the 50's...then they raised them to a dime......a bargain riding the Cyclone back then... people used to be 'a-scared' to ride it

I remember Nathan's Franks at 10 cents...then they raised them to 15 cents and 10 cents for the fries... a quarter got you a lot....now look what they did..

Have a good trip to Brooklyn.

It is funny how everybody just thinks Hot Dogs and Fries when they think about Nathan's. They had so many other things. I loved the minced and cooked Lobster meat on buns. I remember when they had Abalone, sliced and fried on a bun too. Fried Shrimp and so much more. I recall having Corn on the cob there also. Great Root Beer and they had a Frozen Custard area too.

I don't recall the 5 cent Dogs, but do remember the 10 cent ones. I think that the drinks were a Nickle.

All of that area was great, from Nathan's, Joe's Clam Bar to Lundy's and all the great Italian Restaurants there.

One place I wish I could remember the name of, was a great, I mean great, small Italian Restaurant, near the Navy yard on Sand street. They made an Italian Peasant Chicken dish that knocked your socks off. The best part of the place was a 70 year old waiter named Shadow. That was the days when the Chianti still came in the basket bottle at about a buck a bottle. For desert, Zabaglione. I bet it was no more then $8-10 a couple, for the meal + tip.

We lived at the right time and in the right place, Paisan.

That's funny, Howard, every time I hear Nathans, I too think of hot dogs! :D
My ex-wife was a Lundy and we went to Lundy's resturant quite a bit. They had great food! And, Ray, I was 'a-scared' of the Cyclone! LOL!

When I stay here at my cuzzins in Sheepshead Bay I take an early morning walk right by Lundys everyday right around sunrise...nice and quiet and pretty across from the fishing boat docks..I usually continue my 2 hour walk across the walkway bridge over the watere across to the Manhattan Beach side... wwe leave here Tuesday morning...all I can say is..Brooklyn is at a standstill it is so crowded with trafiic that is unbelievable
